Learn from the Past and Frame the Future with a History Degree
Students interested in pursuing a bachelor of history degree will have many options for their future career including government, archives, museums, historical research, and scholarly associations. A History degree enables students to combine their studies with a number of minors to further enhance career options. For example, recent graduates have combined their major in History with Art History, English, and other Social Science fields, such as Criminal Justice.
Preparing students for graduate study, our history degree helps students develop critical thinking, analytical, research, writing, and foreign language skills. The projected growth for historian jobs will grow by 3 percent over the next decade.
- A History degree leads students to careers in several disciplines
- Provides students with strong analytical, research, writing, and foreign language skills
- Having a History degree prepares students for graduate study/employment in a variety of settings
- Enhanced career options with a minor
- Transferable Skills
I absolutely love Marywood. It is the best! With Sophomore year being more like a normal year after the pandemic that has gripped our nation, it honestly has been such an amazing experience so far. The people I have met are wonderful. The teachers and administrators respond to you so fast compared to a bigger campus. I feel like that is what Marywood is all about, family.
