    Bachelor of Architecture

    The five-year, professional Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree program at Marywood is accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB). To become an architect, most states require the completion of a professional, NAAB-accredited degree, as well as Architecture Experience (AXP) hours and Architect Registration Exams (AREs), both administered by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB).

    The B.Arch. degree program is intended for students who will pursue a career as a licensed architect or advanced study in the field of architecture. To this end, Marywood students who have completed the B.Arch. degree are eligible for 71 credits of advanced standing in the Master of Interior Architecture program.

    Bachelor of Interior Architecture

    The four-year professional bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture (BIA) is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The Interior Architecture degree is intended for students who will pursue a career as a licensed interior architect/designer or advanced study in the field of interior architecture. To become a licensed interior architect, most states require completion of an accredited degree, experience hours, and National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exams administered by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ).

    Students who have completed the BIA program and wish to continue their studies at Marywood are eligible for 41 credits of advanced standing in the Master of Interior Architecture program. 

    Focused on acquiring the skills needed to design interiors, buildings, and their environments, this accredited degree option trains students to create the specific character of spaces for human use and enjoyment. Interior architects must understand the important role of materials, colors, textures, and light in the creation of interior spaces that respond to the physical, social, psychological, and cultural needs of building inhabitants.

    Bachelor of Science in Construction Management

    Having a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM) enables students to become a certified construction manager, along with many other job opportunities.  The construction management degree is a Prospect Program for accreditation by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). To become a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) requires a combination of an accredited degree in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC), Responsible in Charge (RIC) experience hours, and certification exams administered by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).  The four-year BSCM program is intended for students who will pursue a career as a certified construction manager or advanced study in other fields related to architecture and the built environment. To this end, Marywood students who have earned a Construction Management degree are eligible for 25 credits of advanced standing in the Master of Interior Architecture program.

    Master of Interior Architecture

    The 3.5-year professional degree in Interior Architecture (M.I.A.) is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The M.I.A. program is intended for students who will pursue a career as a licensed interior architect or designer. To become a licensed interior architect or designer, most states require completion of an accredited degree, Experience Hours, and NCIDQ exams administered by the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ).  Focused on acquiring and deepening the skills needed to create the specific character of spaces for human use and enjoyment. In this capacity, interior architects must understand the important role of materials, colors, textures, and light in the creation of interior spaces that respond to the physical, social, psychological, and cultural needs of building inhabitants.

    Marywood offers advanced standing in their professional M.I.A. program for students with undergraduate degrees in Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Construction Management.

    Master of Architecture

    A Master's in Architecture is intended for students who will pursue a career as a licensed architect. Most state licensing boards require a process that is administered by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB), including the completion of a professional, NAAB-accredited degree, as well as Architecture Experience (AXP) hours and Architect Registration Exams (AREs). The M.Arch. program plans to apply for eligibility for candidacy with National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) in Spring 2024.

    Marywood offers advanced standing in their MArch program for students with undergraduate degrees in Architecture (BArch), Interior Architecture (BIA), and Construction Management (BSCM). For instance, Marywood alumni with the Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree, may be eligible for 60 credits of advanced standing in the MArch program.

    Master of Science in Management Information Systems

    Learn to influence the way companies think about Information Systems by earning a Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MS-MIS) at Marywood University. A specialized master’s degree designed to impart to students the technical expertise and business savvy by preparing Information Systems majors for management, high-level work and potential leadership in management information systems and related fields. Marywood’s MS-MIS program provides students with maximum flexibility in the design of the students information systems degree.

    Master of Science in Biotechnology 

    The Master of Science in Biotechnology (M.S.) program at Marywood University is designed for students seeking to advance their careers in the rapidly evolving field of biotechnology. This interdisciplinary program combines core courses in molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics with practical laboratory experience and research opportunities.

    Graduates of the M.S. in Biotechnology program are well-prepared for careers in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental science, as well as for further study in doctoral programs. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training and the development of critical thinking skills, equipping students to tackle complex challenges in biotechnology and contribute to innovative solutions in the industry.

    There is a $50 application fee when you submit through the Marywood online application, Common Application, and via a paper application. If you wish to complete a paper application, please download it here to print it.

    Undergraduate International

    Completed applications for the fall semester (late August through December) must be received by June 1; completed applications for the spring semester (January through May) must be received by November 1. Begin the process early and beware of all steps that must be taken in order to gain acceptance.

    The following documents are required to complete the application process. All documents submitted in connection with the application become the property of the University.

    • Official high school transcript
    • Official high school leaving certificate/diploma, if applicable.
    • Official college transcript/leaving certificate, if applicable
    • Official test scores (see below)
    • One letter of recommendation (eg. professor, headmaster/headmistress, mentor, etc.). Letters can be sent electronically via the online application or you may submit electronically to internationaladm@marywood.edu
    • Citizenship/Visa Information
    • Certification of Finances with bank statement (see below)
    • Already studying in the United States? You will need the International Student Transfer Authorization.

    Include original, unopened transcripts of all academic work, including transfer coursework. Transcripts should be sent from the issuing high school or college to Marywood University. An official high school or college signature or seal must appear across the back flap of the unopened envelope.  Applications will not be considered without official transcripts. 

    Translation of Non-English Transcripts
    In addition to sending official transcripts, all non-English transcripts must be translated by a certified translator such as World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators and International Education Evaluations, LLC.  All information on the transcript must be translated verbatim.

    Marywood University requires that prospective undergraduate students achieve one of the following English proficiency requirements:

    • Minimum TOEFL score: 71 
    • Minimum IELTS band score of 5.5 
    • Minimum PTE Academic score: 48 
    • Minimum Duolingo score: 90

    Please submit official English proficiency scores taken within the last two years.

    Submit an essay of at least 250 words.

    Essay topics may include:

    • Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.  
    • The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
    • Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
    • Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
    • Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
    • Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
    • Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

    The Certification of Finances form must also be accompanied by a bank statement on official bank stationary, showing proof of sufficient funds. These forms must be mailed, not faxed to Marywood.   

    An acceptance and student visa will not be issued without the official bank statement and Certification of Finances form. 

    Once all official documents required for admission are received, we will process your application for evaluation.  If you are accepted by the Admissions Committee, an acceptance packet will be sent to you.

    All documents submitted in connection with the application become the property of the University.

    Although international students are not eligible to receive federal and state financial assistance, Marywood University does offer scholarships to international students based on merit.  Marywood does not offer full tuition scholarships, however partial scholarships are available. Currently, students may qualify for up to $23,000 USD per year, with the highest amount going to the most academically talented students.

    Graduate & Doctoral International

    International Applicants should follow the deadlines listed below, unless you are interested in a program listed in the "Program Specific" list above. Deadlines for those programs supersede any deadlines listed below.

    • Summer of current year: April 1

    • Fall semester of current year: June 1

    • Spring semester of following year: November 1

    Before Beginning the Application Process

    • Nutrition and Dietetics Internships/Distance Education Dietetic Internship Applicants:
      Submit application through Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS) and also complete the Dietetic Internship Match through D & D Digital.
    • Physician Assistant Applicants: Must submit the application for admission through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA).

If you have not attended college for three or more years, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions for guidance.

      Submit Your Deposit
      If you wish to accept the offer of admission, please Submit Your Deposit online. Deposits are non-refundable.
      Deferment
      An admitted graduate student may defer their enrollment one time for up to one year from the original semester accepted. The deferment request must be made before the start of the original semester accepted. Deferring enrollment will be subject to a fee. If a student wishes to defer enrollment for a second time or if the deferment falls outside of the one-year period, the student must apply to the graduate program again.
