Sister Mary Delivers Her Annual Fireside Chat
"Let us celebrate our many blessings during this Holy Season as one people united through Christ's peace, joy, and love. As we reflect on the wonders that await in the New Year may peace begin with each one of us.”
These words, expressed by Sr. Mary Persico IHM, President of Marywood University, in her annual holiday card in 2023, wished the entire campus community and friends of the University a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Mirroring that meaningful sentiment, spirits were bright as Marywood University rang in the Christmas Season of 2023. From the University’s cherished tradition of the annual Christmas tree lighting in the Rotunda to weeks of festive programming showcasing the creative talents of the student body, as well as the spiritual and community service connections that the campus has with the broader NEPA region, Marywood entered its 108th Christmas Season demonstrating the blessings of peace, joy, and love affirmed in this year’s card.
To mark the good cheer of this year’s holiday season, Sister Mary opted to restructure her iconic Christmas Fireside Chat format, and sat down with junior Multimedia Communication major/co-creator and co-host of the podcast Courageously Kind, Maddie Adams, to reminisce over the joys of Christmases past and have a little fun in preparation for Christmas present.
