Prof. Ahmed Sakr

Ahmed Sakris Professor of Finance at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and currently serving as Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Graduate School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Finance, 2006 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA. MBA in Finance, 2000 from Central Michigan University, USA. B.Com. in Business Administration, 1996 from University of Alexandria, Egypt. He has gained valuable experience in teaching various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of Finance. He teaches a variety of finance classes such as Corporate Finance, International Finance, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions Management and Financial Statement Analysis. In addition to classroom instruction, He has advised several masters and doctoral students on appropriate research topics for their thesis. He has published several research papers in the field of finance in international journals. During his service at AAST, He served as the chair of the Business Administration Department at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in the satellite campus of Latakia, Syria during the academic years of 2009-2011. He has also gained valuable teaching and research experience as a Visiting Professor at several academic institutions around the world such as Southeast Missouri State University and ISTEC –Ecole supérieure de commerce et de marketing Paris, France.
