Students explored the rich history of professional basketball in Northeastern Pennsylvania through a local history project focused on sports as social change. Their research uncovered the Scranton roots of the Eastern Professional Basketball League, a groundbreaking organization that helped shape today’s NBA G League while leading the way in racial integration and basketball innovation.
Celebrate Marywood 2026 was a resounding success, bringing together alumni, friends, and community members for an unforgettable evening on campus. Held in the Motherhouse and Seminary Morgan Memorial Garden, the event honored Virginia Doherty McGregor and Father Thomas M. Muldowney while raising significant support for the future transformation of the Center for Natural & Health Sciences. The night highlighted the strength of the Marywood community and its continued investment in student success.
