The Health & Physical Education (HPE) program at Marywood University prepares future educators, coaches, and health professionals to become certified Health and Physical Education teachers for grades PreK-12. Students are empowered to promote lifelong wellness and inspire healthy living. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and early field experiences, students gain the confidence and skills to make a positive impact in schools and communities. Students receive specialized training in adapted physical education to ensure inclusivity for individuals of all abilities, and they develop strong skills in curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored to diverse learning environments. In addition, the program emphasizes professional preparation by fostering leadership, communication, and coaching abilities that extend beyond the classroom and into the community.
