We enthusiastically and officially welcomed Lisa A. Lori, J.D. as the Thirteenth President of Marywood University at the presidential inauguration on Friday, November 8, 2024. As we gathered to witness this important milestone, the energy of our vibrant campus was on full display. The Marywood community, as well as the region, shared in the excitement of this transformative moment.

PARKING & MAPS

A designated parking area will be available to our delegates in the Sette LaVerghetta Center Parking Lot. The lot is located at the corner of Adams Avenue and College Avenue.  University Campus Safety Officers will be present to assist you with parking.

Shuttles will be running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will stop at four locations:

  • College Avenue, in front of the Liberal Arts Center
  • Hurley Circle, behind the Nazareth Student Center
  • Adams Avenue, between the Nazareth Student Center's general and VIP parking lots
  • Adams Avenue, in front of Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Scranton area has many hotels and other visitor accommodations. 

Delegate Information

ACADEMIC ATTIRE
All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire. If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing so that they may provide you with the necessary academic regalia. There will be a secure courtesy area in the Liberal Arts Center (see Campus Map) where regalia may be placed prior to the Inaugural Luncheon and robing for the Inaugural Convocation.

REGISTRATION AND ACADEMIC PROCESSION INSTRUCTIONS
A registration desk for delegates will be located in the Rotunda of the Liberal Arts Center (see Campus Map). Upon arrival on campus you are requested to visit the registration desk where you will be recorded as being present and given appropriate instructions for the day’s activities. Delegates may leave their academic regalia in this secure area prior to and during the Inauguration Ceremony.

All Delegates are asked to register and check-in prior to 1:30 p.m. to allow sufficient time to robe. Signage will be located in the designated classrooms to ensure correct order of procession. The procession will begin to form at 1:30 p.m. and begin marching promptly at 1:50 p.m. The Convocation will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Marshals of the University will be on hand to direct delegates and to form the procession. Security will be provided for the assembly area during the Inaugural Convocation. In case of rain, announcement of the alternate plan for the Inauguration Procession will be made at the Inaugural Luncheon.
