2017 Medalist Recipients Announced
Marywood University awarded medals for academic excellence and achievement during separate hooding and honors convocation ceremonies on Friday, May 19, 2017. The honored graduates were from Marywood University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, the Reap College of Education and Human Development, the Insalaco College of Creative and Performing Arts, the College of Health and Human Services, the Munley College of Liberal Arts, and the School of Architecture.
Graduate Medalists
William G. McGowan Medal for Excellence in Doctoral Studies awarded to Kelly Carroll. This medal was founded by the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund in memory of William G. McGowan.
Sister Saint Agnes Medal for Excellence in Business awarded to Deborah Jane Buzunis. This medal was founded by Ms. Angela Moran in memory of Sister St. Agnes Moran.
Haggerty Medal for Leadership and Academic Excellence in Counselor Education awarded to Sarah Lynn Davis. This medal was founded by Trustees of the estate of Loretta Haggerty.
Walton Medal for Excellence in Public Administration awarded to Nicole A. Brown. This medal was founded by Dr. Clarence C. and Elizabeth Walton.
Polizzi Medal for Scholarship and Community Service awarded to Chelsea T. Collins. This medal was founded by the Student Association, School of Social Work, in memory of Anthony C. Polizzi.
Geffen Medal for Outstanding Performance in practicum Education awarded to Kevin R. Myers, Jr. This medal was founded by Friends and Co-Workers in memory of Albert Geffen.
Melvin Medal Graduate Medal for Excellence in Scholarly Investigation awarded to Chelsea T. Collins. This medal was founded by Sister M. Constance Melvin, IHM in honor of Francis L. and Kathryn Melvin.
Thomas J. Keenan M.D. Medal of Excellence in the Physician Assistant Program awarded to Taylor M. Schroeder. This medal was founded by Mrs. Mary Keenan Hecht in honor of her brother.
