2026 MFA Thesis Exhibition Showcases Work of Four Graduating Artists

Marywood University’s newly renovated Mahady Gallery welcomed a large crowd on July 18 for the opening of the 2026 MFA Thesis Exhibition, celebrating the creative work and accomplishments of four graduating artists.
The exhibition featured thesis projects from Romina Godoy-Lobos, April Duque, Dr. Brooke Jana Cannon, and Katherine Solis (ItsKathy), with each artist exploring a unique subject, concept, and medium.
Romina Godoy-Lobos presented her “Cryptid Fashion” project, which explores outfit designs inspired by cryptid creatures from all 50 states. Her exhibition included cardboard cutouts, prints, and a book showcasing the creative concepts behind her designs.
April Duque showcased a collection of iconography relief prints centered around the 12 classic human archetypes, exploring symbolism and representation through printmaking.
Dr. Brooke Jana Cannon presented an exhibition focused on symbolic taxonomy, using ink and monoprinting techniques to examine systems of symbolism and classification through her artwork.
Katherine Solis, known professionally as ItsKathy, introduced her new business while displaying a portfolio of client work that highlighted her creative practice and professional development.
The strong turnout at the exhibition reflected the support of the Marywood community and provided an opportunity for the four graduates to share the culmination of their MFA studies with family, friends, faculty, fellow students, and members of the community.
The 2026 MFA Thesis Exhibition celebrates not only four individual bodies of work, but also the creativity, dedication, and diverse artistic perspectives of Marywood’s graduating MFA students.

Her training on the ADOS-2 gave current Psy.D. students an introduction to a specialized area of practice while highlighting the critical need for qualified autism assessment providers in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
