Sr. Angela Kim Named Fulbright Specialist

Marywood University is proud to announce that Sr. Angela Kim, a faculty member in the School of Social Work, has been selected as a Fulbright Specialist and will collaborate with Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu in Romania. The prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award recognizes experts who demonstrate leadership and contribute to their field through international collaboration, research, and education.

As part of her Fulbright work, Sr. Kim will partner with faculty in Romania to develop and enhance social work education. Her projects will include presenting effective assessment and intervention strategies, conducting workshops on Master of Social Work curriculum design, delivering lectures and seminars on interdisciplinary and community-focused practices, and collaborating on joint research initiatives. She will also provide mentoring and guidance to doctoral students and engage in strategic planning sessions to support curriculum development aligned with global best practices.

Sr. Kim’s extensive experience and expertise in international social work education, minority studies, ethnic identity development, program evaluation, and university-community research were central to her selection for this honor. Her work focuses on empowering students and communities through evidence-based education and practical interventions.

This recognition highlights Sr. Kim’s dedication to advancing social work education both in the United States and abroad, and Marywood University celebrates her outstanding achievements and global impact.
