Abbey attended Marywood University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science in 2004. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2005. Abbey received a Ph.D. in Strategic Leadership & Administrative Studies in 2022.
After PA graduation, Abbey began working in emergency medicine both at Community Medical Center & Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. Abbey holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine (CAQ-EM).
Abbey joined the Physician Assistant Program at Marywood University in 2014 where she has served as Clinical Coordinator, Academic Director, and now as Program Director. She teaches Evidence-Based Medicine, EKG Interpretation, and 3 semesters of Clinical Medicine during the didactic year, and assists with Medical Procedures and Patient Assessment & Clinical Correlations practical exams throughout the year.
