Prior to starting her career as a member of the faculty at Marywood University, Dr. Rebecca Kenderes, Doctorate of Medical Sciences, accumulated 8 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant throughout the region. A Marywood Alumna, Dr. Kenderes has her bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physician Assistant Studies and Spanish studies and her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Marywood. She completed a one-year Primary Care Transformation Executive Fellowship through A.T. Still University, where she went on to receive her doctoral level degree. Her capstone project in the doctoral program involved integrating medical Spanish into Physician Assistant studies.
Her tenure as an Assistant Professor of Practice at Marywood began in 2021. She specializes as a Principal Faculty Member in the didactic year of the program, in which she typically teaches Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis I, II and III, Medical Procedures I and II, Culturally Competent Medicine and Underserved Populations, and OBGYN.
The best part of her current position is being able to pass on the experiences she has gained throughout her career in practice to current students. Prior to her position at Marywood, Dr. Kenderes served as a preceptor for students in the medical field. She enjoyed being able to teach them in the field and finds the experience teaching them in the classroom similarly rewarding. She is particularly grateful for having the opportunity to return to her alma mater to teach alongside some of the same professors who have had an incredible impact on her throughout her education.
